When we brought refurbished computers to the village, it was the first time the kids of Jiquillio saw a computer. They learned to type their names right away, and then began to draw pictures with Paint and read Spanish books in our eBook library. Immense thanks to Toby Liu and Mr. Paul Liu for all their help and involvement in this project.
The laptops were wiped of all their contents, and a new Windows 7 operating system was installed (donated by Microsoft). In July 2015, we brought two refurbished laptops (thanks to our generous donors!) with hundreds of English and Spanish books and learning materials. Thirteen year old Samuel Park (1kl-library.org) from North Carolina kindly donated a Spanish-interface Kindle with Spanish books for us to bring to the students there. Thanks, Sam! The computers and Kindle have permanent homes in Jiquilillo, Nicaragua now to help with education, English and Spanish learning in the villages.
